The Missing Boards for the Raspberry Pi

The Raspberry Pi is a fabulous board.  You can do almost anything with one of these inexpensive computers.   However, after using the Raspberry Pi for a number of years, we have determined what boards are really missing in the Raspberry Pi ecosystem.  It is made even better with a Pi2Grover IOT prototyping board.   The three missing boards are:

1) A inexpensive way of rapid prototyping with the Pi (Pi2Grover)

2) An inexpensive flexible Analog to Digital Converter (Grove 4 Channel 16 bit ADC)

3) A way of adding additional GPIOs with out adding complexity (Grove Digital Extender)

These missing pieces are what we are addressing in our new Kickstarter!IMG_2387

  • Pi to Grove Plugin Board – Pi2Grover
  • Grove 4 Channel 16 Bit Analog to Digital Converter
  • Digital Grove Extender

What are Grove Connectors?

Grove connectors are a standard way of connecting modules together without soldering.  They are keyed so you can’t plug them in backwards.   See our Grove Tutorial here.

Pi2Grover Specification Released

The Pi2Grover board provides 15 Grove connectors for your prototyping needs.  10 Grove Digital, 4 Grove I2C, and one Grove UART.    Fast prototyping with many, many different Grove devices available.  No software drivers required.  You are right next to the hardware.

IMG_7062The Pi2Grover board provides buffered connections and voltage translation between the Raspberry Pi pins and external Grove modules.   Pi2Grover provides bi-directional voltage translation from the Raspberry Pi (3.3V) to 5V.   The board is “transparent” to any software, so existing drivers for modules will work with no translation required.   Voltage translation for I2C Bus is also supported by the Pi2Grover board.

The specification in PDF form can be downloaded here.
