New Products from SwitchDoc Labs – Available Now!

We are pleased to announce four new products from SwitchDoc Labs:  SolarMAX, INA3221 with Screw Terminals, Grove DS3221 Clock Board, and the USB PowerCentral (with INA219).  All of these products are currently in stock and shipping.

SolarMax LiPo

SolarMAX LiPo and Data Gathering System for SkyWeather / Raspberry Pi / Arduino is a SwitchDoc Labs designed system to charge LiPo batteries from Large 12V Solar panels in order to provide more power to small computer systems.   SolarMAX is designed to collect and return data about the solar panel system to the powered (or other) computer via a LoRa link.  SolarMAX collects and transmits the following data via 433MHz LoRa Radio every 30 seconds.  No data cable needed!  It transmits:

  • LiPo Battery Voltage
  • LiPo Battery Current
  • Solar Panel Voltage
  • Solar Panel Current
  • Load Voltage
  • Load Current

It also supplies the following about inside the SolarMAX box:

  • Inbox Temperature
  • Inbox Humidity

You can buy the SolarMAX LiPo system here.

SolarMAX uses a 433MHz LoRa module which can transmit up to 2 kilometers or further with larger antennas and uses very little power.   Solar Panel voltage from 9V to 18V, VOC of 24V and it supplies 1.5A in load current.  See this blog post for more information..

INA3221 Three Channel ADC with Grove Connectors and Screw Terminals

This product is identical to the INA3221 Breakout Board except for the addition of screw terminals for the IN1-, IN1+, IN2-, IN2+, IN3-,IN3+ pin header terminals.

The INA3221 Breakout Board is a three-channel, high-side current and bus voltage monitor with an I2C interface and Grove Connectors/Pin Headers and screw terminals. Sometimes, you want to measure lots of things in your system. A great example is when you have a solar powered system.

You can buy the INA3221 3 Channel ADC with Terminals here.

Grove DS3221 Real Time Clock Board

The SwitchDoc Labs DS3231 Real Time Clock Module contains two devices, both connected to a 3.3V or 5.0V I2C bus. It contains a Maxim DS3231 high accuracy temperature compensated Real Time Clock.  According to tests done at SwitchDoc Labs, the DS3231 is the clear winner with a measured accuracy of less than 0.3PPM (Parts Per Million) or in other words, losing or gaining less than 0.026 seconds per day. The software supports both the DS3231 timekeeping functions and the internal temperature sensor of the DS3231.

You can buy the Grove DS3221 Real Time Clock Board here.

USB PowerCentral (with INA219)

This is the latest in the family of USB solid state relay USB Switches and monitoring boards. The USB PowerCentral board is a USB to USB solid state relay with an on-board INA219 to measure USB Current and Voltage.  It is is a digitally controlled power switch for your Arduino or Raspberry Pi. It is a Pi On and Off switch.

You can buy the new USB PowerCentral Board here.
